HEAD CHEF - BRAND NEW CAFE AND EATERY - MEDIA 24/Cape Town
We are looking for a dynamic Chef who can bring a new and exciting presence to the Cape Town scene. There will be a massive focus on fresh and quality dishes, corporate catering and innovative cooking. Key Responsibilities will Include:
Experience:
5+ years in kitchens, 2+ in leadership roles
Menu Development:
Design innovative menus aligned with market trends, seasonal availability, and target clientele.
Cater to dietary requirements and cultural preferences.
Food Quality and Presentation:
Percentage of positive customer reviews regarding food quality and aesthetics.
Consistency in adhering to recipes and presentation standards.
Kitchen Management:
Supervise kitchen staff, including training and scheduling.
Maintain compliance with health and safety regulations.
Cost Control:
Monitor food and labour costs, ensuring profitability.
Source quality ingredients from local suppliers within budget constraints.
Customer Interaction:
Fully available to all clients (Visible at all times - become the personality behind the food)
Address complaints and feedback promptly to maintain satisfaction.
Catering:
Liaising with potential clients in a professional and timely manner
Plan, order and execute functions, events, and weddings in a professional manner
Collaborate with customers for customised menu options.
Health and Safety Compliance:
Number of health inspection violations.
Staff adherence to food safety protocols (measured through regular audits).
Profitability:
Contribution margin per dish.
Overall profitability of the kitchen operations.
